Summary-
Universities UK report says the proportion of full-time undergraduates living in halls has fallen from 35% to 27% in the same period. students living at home has increased from 12% to 20% over the past 10 years, figures suggest. Since 1998 students have had to pay tuition fees, which have now risen to £3,000 a year. The study shows a slight rise in the number of students from poorer areas going to university - up 1% on 1998/99. The study shows a reduction in the number of students leaving university and finding themselves unemployed, but it stresses that this must be seen in the context of the overall improvement in employment within the UK.
Reaction:
I can understand that students stay at home. To go to college/university is thesedays unbelievably expensive, almost only for the élite! Only youngsters who have a lot of money or parents with money have the chance to study? If you tell me, this is not fair, educations should be for everyone, not just for a small precentage, this is ridiculous!

I agree with you Hafsa, everybody should be equal, but unfortunately this is not the case. Most students don't have a choose because they don't have the money to live on their own. They always need the help of their parents. Not everybody is rich or a billionaire.
